Accepted students will need to complete a parental release form and provide proof that they are adequately covered by medical insurance.

 

There are a limited number of slots on the Junior Racing Camp. Completed applications and necessary documents are due NO LATER THAN July 10th. Selected students will be notified no later than July 15th. The sooner we receive applications, the better. Please note the following application requirements.

 

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

  1. List your race riding and racehorse experience.
  2. In your own words, write a 2-3 paragraph essay on why you would like to attend this clinic.
  3. Each applicant must supply two letters of recommendation from a professional in the horse industry stating your level of ability, work ethic, and over all horsemanship. (i.e.- letter can be from an instructor, trainer, Pony Club DC, MFH, etc.)
  4. Applicants must be 15-18 years old.
  5. Must be a currently paid member of the North American Point to Point Association.
  6. Upon acceptance, there will be a $400 camp fee. Campers will be responsible for transportation to the start of the camp, as well as home from the end (usually Saratoga- we may be able to find them a ride home with horses that are running there that day that will be returning to PA, MD, or VA). Attendee’s will also be responsible for their own food while at the racetrack, but all other meals are covered under the camp fee. Not all applicants may be accepted. We will take 6 applicants based on ability, experience, and overall sportsmanship and horsemanship. Attendees may be allowed to ride for trainers based their experience and the type of horses that are available… not all juniors will ride for all trainers. Please keep in mind that campers will be handling REAL racehorses.
  7. Upon acceptance in to the camp, you will be asked to provide proof of health insurance and a parent/guardian must sign a waiver.
