The Busy Bee Race Rules

•    The field will circle in numbered order and then walk in a straight line across the course to start

•    The field must remain behind the Field Master until after the final fence.

•    Obstacles will be flagged and made of straw bales

•    Entrants may circle in order to stay behind the Field Master, but must do it safely and not interfere with anyone else.

•    The Field Master may stop or slow down the race at any point they feel that things are getting out of control with the field.

•    If a rider falls off they may remount and finish behind the field, but will be disqualified.

•    If an entry refuses a fence, they may circle and retry as many times as they want as long as they do not interfere with the rest of the field.

•    The Pace will be a strong canter with some easy galloping. Remember that these are not real race horses and we do not want anyone to break down. The Field Master may trot or walk if necessary.

•    If the Field Master falls, the field must pull up and wait for further instruction. A member of the field may be chosen as the new Field Master and continue the course.

•    After the majority of the field has cleared the final fence, the Field Master will release the field by shouting "Tally Ho!" It is not until then that the field may pass the Field Master. Entrants must be completely behind the Field Master before being released. The Field Master may disqualify anyone trying to sneak up beside him/her before Tally Ho has been shouted. The point of release will be given to the field before the start of the race.

•    Have fun and enjoy the race!
